Tabitha and I are having a great time sking in Colorado. She is learning and I am blogging from my phone. It’s pretty trippy blogging from a ski slope listening to bob Marley on my iPhone. Technology rules. Pictures will be coming soon. God’s handiwork is amazing.
My wife and I got to attend one of Middle TN’s most interesting phenomenon, Mule Day. If you have never been to Mule Day you really need to go. It happens every April in Columbia TN. There is a huge parade, a fair, and a ton of rednecks. It is very cool.
The official definition of Mule According to the official website
, http://www.muleday.com/, is the following: Mule Day is an annual celebration of all things related to mules and is held in Columbia, Tennessee, the “Mule Capital” of the world. Begun in 1840 as “Breeder’s Day”, a meeting for mule breeders, it now attracts over 200,000 people and takes place over four days. In addition to mules, traditional Appalachian food, music, dancing, and crafts are featured.
Good times to be sure. Anyway, I am posting some pictures for your viewing pleasure!
hopefully you can come to Mule Day 2010 April 11th!
Ok so here is the deal. I am a big Penn State fan. Its not popular here in Nashville which is big time SEC country but I am so excited to see us going into Columbus Ohio as the number 3 team in the country. We haven’t beaten them in Columbus for 7 years but hopefully we will prevail today. Dean Fulks and I have been harassing each other already. So… I am either going to be excited or really bummed out tonight. Funny how a simple game in which I know no one personally can make a big difference in my emotional state. Anyway, Go LIONS!

I dont know what it is but I love going to the beach. It is just so relaxing and refreshing to sit and read a book all day by the ocean. I try to switch it up from spiritual books to novels. The book I was reading to feed my soul was “No Perfect People Allowed” by John Burke. I think it has some very powerful insights into creating a church that accepts people the way that they are and helps them find Christ as a result of that acceptance. In fact it was one of the books that was catalyst to Brad and I starting Green Hills Church this year. I hope we can be a place that people far from God can come and know him regardless of their past. I really hope our church can be a place that people don’t feel judged but can grow in their walk with Christ.
Back to the beach… Tabitha and I really enjoyed our time in Gulf Shores. If you have never been there it is a must visit. I have never seen beaches as white as they are in Alabama of all places. Trust me I have been around some good beaches in my day and this one is only 7 hours away from Nashville. I am enclosing some pictures for your viewing pleasure.
